Brad has been employed in the forest industry all of his adult working life. While working as a production employee and first aid attendant for 12 years at a Canfor sawmill in Prince George, he pursued a Certification in Occupational Health and Safety via BCIT’s distant education program. After receiving a Certification in Occupational Health and Safety, he accepted the position of Human Resources/Safety Manager at Louisiana Pacific’s Eagle River Sawmill.
In November 2002, Brad joined Conifer assuming the role of Manager of Employment Relations. Since joining Conifer, he has pursued and attained a number of educational and professional initiatives including a Certification in Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management from Athabasca University, the Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) designation, and the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program from Vancouver Community College. Brad also completed, with honors in 2008, a Degree in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations from Athabasca University.
Brad serves Conifer member companies by providing support services in labour relations, collective agreement administration, collective bargaining, training initiatives and acts as the Industry Job Evaluator for the B.C. Northern Interior Sawmill and Poleyard Job Evaluation Program. In Addition to serving Conifer member companies, Brad serves on several boards in a voluntary capacity including, Presdent, of the BC Counsil on Substance Abuse, Board Member for the Healthy Hearts Society of BC and a Board Member for the Immigrant and Muticultural Services Society and Trustee for SHARP.
